Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology

01.General Information

Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology is a partnership between the industry and the public sector in Malaysia, working together to prospect for business and technology at the domestic and international market-place.

Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT) was launched as a company limited by guarantee in 1993. It is an independent and non-profit organisation driven by a membership drawn from both the public and private sectors.

It is an organisation under the purview of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), it represents the Ministry in interfacing with the Industry to promote technology uptake in business.

It manages several national projects on behalf of the Government, namely 

  • ?MM Chip? development and implementation
  • ?Passenger-to-Freighter? aircraft conversion

It also serves as the secretariat to the Malaysian Aerospace Council and is a consortium member of Malaysia International Aerospace Centre (MIAC). 

Group had undertaken various studies which include:   

  • Formulation of national biotechnology policy
  • Identification of business and R&D opportunities in the applications of nanotechnology
  • Concept development master plan for agro-based industry park
  • Herbal industry business model development
  • National Brain Gain Programme
