Australia has a leading role in the New Zealand’s’ armament imports for the period 2008-2012 reaffirming the good relations the two countries have. Apart from Australia other important countries that export arms to New Zealand, during the last five years, are France, Germany, Italy, Israel and the United States. As it is depicted New Zealand’s armament imports are rather expanded in their geographical preference. Ships were the predominant area of imports for the period 2008-2012 with a total amount of 92 US$ m. at constant (1990) prices. The 2nd most important sector was that of missiles with 41 US$ m. at constant (1990) prices whereas other areas such as engines, missiles and sensors follow. Press Here
