The Directory of Israel’s Homeland Security Industry

"when you hire someone in Israel in order to work in the Homeland Security Industry he has operational experience gained from serving in the Israel Defense Forces and that is the reason why the Israeli engineers are close to the operational user, simply because they have been there."

Despite its small size and overwhelming political problems, and perhaps even because of them, Israel has succeeded in developing what can someone probably describe as the most sophisticated Defence Force establishment in the Middle East. Actually, Israel has great experience in deterring and combating the threat of terrorism and consequently the products, systems and services that the Israeli Industry created throughout the years, have been tested and improved after real-time utilization.

Furthermore, the highly advanced academic research platform and high-tech capabilities that Israel have enabled dozens of companies to develop expertise in such areas as aviation, maritime and transport security; borders and infrastructure protection, safe-city and emergency services management; IT security; and much more. Another essential ingredient that Israel’s Homeland Security Industry has is the high quality and professionalism of its workforce. This is primarily due to the fact that when you hire someone in Israel in order to work in the Homeland Security Industry he has operational experience gained from serving in the Israel Defense Forces and that is the reason why the Israeli engineers are close to the operational user, simply because they have been there.

In order to facilitate the further promotion of Israeli Homeland Security, the Industrial Cooperation Authority (ICA) and Israel's Export and International Cooperation Institute (IEICI), that are the primary organizations facilitating trade ties, joint ventures and strategic alliances between overseas and Israeli companies, created the Homeland Security Industry Directory, in order to provide information to overseas companies and foreign HLS related establishments, about the capabilities of the hundreds of local security-related industries in Israel. The relevant staff members within the ICA as well as the IEICI’s Technologies Division, who are familiar with the Israeli Homeland Security industry, will be glad to coordinate and arranges meetings and tours in Israel for visiting delegations of public officials and private businessmen. At the same time the ICA and IEICI provide information to Israeli companies about overseas opportunities and assists them in penetrating new markets and “opening doors” where appropriate.
