Red Dot Corporation Bolsters Aftermarket Foothold in American Heartland

Today, Red Dot Corporation, a leader in heating and air conditioning for commercial and military vehicles, announced the hire of Scott Latimer as regional sales manager. With unique local and product line experience, Latimer will help support Red Dot Corporation’s Navistar product lines, as well as partner with Red Dot Corporation’s distributors in the U.S. midwest region to grow business.

Latimer joins Red Dot from Navistar, where he worked in Lisle, Ill. as senior product manager for five years. As the leader of product management for the aftermarket distributor, he interfaced with dealers, customers and suppliers on a daily basis to grow the company’s business. His portfolio spanned I/C bus parts, exhaust, trailer, safety equipment, tools and shop supplies.

“Scott is a vocal advocate for Red Dot’s products—and an even bigger advocate for our distributors,” said Pat Carroll, vice president of sales at Red Dot. “In particular, we’re excited to bring Scott’s Navistar experience on board, and ensure that distributors that sell our Navistar product line will thrive.”

Latimer’s addition to the Red Dot team is part of the company’s broader effort to redouble its commitment to the aftermarket segment. By bolstering its aftermarket personnel, Red Dot has staked out its claim towards being the preeminent player in the mobile HVAC aftermarket segment—dedicated to helping support distributors through every stage, and cementing Red Dot as the first and only call any distributor ever needs to make.

Bringing 18 years of experience to the job, Latimer has also previously worked in parts management for Harlow’s Bus Sales, and in vehicle maintenance for Laidlaw.

“I’m excited to work with Red Dot to amplify their aftermarket presence in the midwest,” said Latimer. “For the next several years, the company has set some ambitious goals in the aftermarket space. I know how much my customers loved Red Dot product—and I can’t wait to help our distributors grow.”

Latimer is one of several major aftermarket personnel additions the company has made, including Ken Montelongo, aftermarket regional manager; John McCormack, senior supply chain manager; and Brian Kennedy, aftermarket manager.
