Red’s Celebrates Grand Opening of First Wholly-Owned Manufacturing Facility

Today Red’s, the fastest growing brand in the frozen Mexican food category, announces the grand opening of the company’s first manufacturing facility in North Sioux City, South Dakota. Over the next few weeks, all of Red’s products — natural and organic frozen burritos, burrito bowls, enchiladas and taquitos — will be produced exclusively at this state-of-the-art plant, giving Red’s best-in-class quality and increased speed to market for new innovation. The plant includes an R&D kitchen that chefs will use to develop new, exciting natural food ideas that will then move into production. The facility also gives Red’s the ability to expand capacity as the business grows.

“We have always valued quality above all else and couldn’t be happier to have total control over our own production so we can deliver an amazing food experience,” says Mike Adair, founder and CEO of Red’s. “When I started Red’s, I wanted to bring natural, wholesome, and delicious flavors to the frozen food aisle and deliver on the promise of having ‘the best burrito, period.’ Having our own facility is not only the natural progression of our company’s trajectory, it’s also critical to ensure that every Red’s product we put on freezer shelves has the very best ingredients, tastes amazing, and is made with great care.”

Red’s chose a location in North Sioux City, in the American heartland, so the company has access to superior ingredient sourcing, a food manufacturing-savvy workforce, and a centralized U.S. location ideally suited for shipping Red’s products to its customers nationwide. Red’s expects the new facility to create over 40 new jobs in the area and has received a warm welcome from the community.

About Red’s

Before he started Red’s, Founder and CEO Mike Adair was selling mutual funds but found the work to be soulless. After six years, he resigned and began searching for his passion in life. Never did he think it would lead to burritos. One night, he was enjoying a homemade burrito created by his wife, Paige, when he realized it was a meal so perfect and delicious it just had to be shared. With the approval of their trusty dog, Red, Mike launched Red’s Natural Foods using Paige’s original recipes. Red’s is now the fastest-growing brand in the frozen natural Mexican category with distribution in almost every grocery store across the country including Kroger, Publix, Ahold, Sprouts and Wegmans. All Red’s Burritos contain meat raised without added antibiotics or hormones, rBGH-free cheese and cage-free eggs and select varieties are USDA organic.
