Lockheed Martin has become a partner of Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa in the "Homar" program

On 4 July the Consortium led by Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa S.A. recommended American Lockheed Martin for continuing talks on squadron-level fire-module of multiple rocket launchers "Homar”. This paves the road for the PGZ-led consortium to submit an offer to the Polish MoD's Armament Inspectorate and to start the goverment-to-goverment procedure on granting US administration's consent for Lockheed Martin to participate in the "Homar" program.

Acquisition by the Polish Armed forces such a squadron-level fire-module of multiple rocket launchers  (code-name Homar) is one of the key elements of the Plan of Technical Modernization of the Polish Armed Forces. "Homar" consists in purchase of three squadron-level fire-modules of multiple rocket launchers.

Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa S.A. is a leader of the Consortium created to execute the "Homar" program for squadron-level fire-modules of multiple rocket launchers. As part of preparation of an agreement to be submitted to the Armament Inspectorate of the Polish MoD, the Consortium is engaged in advanced talks with foreign partners being the suppliers of technology necessary to create the potential of the Polish industry for the Homar program.

During these talks Lockheed Martin's offer was deemed to be the most advantageous from the point of view of requirements of the Polish Armed Forces and as regards technology transfers, and on 4 July 2017 Lockheed Martin was formally selected as a dedicated partner for rockets and missiles for the "Homar" program of squadron-level fire-modules of multiple rocket launchers. This selection opens the road towards further negotiations with Lockheed Martin and towards the final proposal from the Consortium to the Armament Inspectorate.

Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa S.A. has informed the Ministry of National Defence of Poland about the above recommendation, so that the Ministry could commence the goverment-to-goverment  procedure on granting US administration's consent for Lockheed Martin to participate in the "Homar" program.
