REV Group Extends the Life of Ambulances with 200,000 sq. ft. REV Remount Center in North Carolina

REV Group (REVG), a $2.4 billion manufacturer of industry-leading specialty vehicle brands and leading provider of parts and services, is extending the life of ambulances with its REV Remount Center, a 200,000 sq. ft. facility offering full remount, painting and interior refurbishing services. Located in Jefferson, NC, the REV Remount Center is a first of its kind facility to offer a full-service center under one roof, dedicated to providing customers these services.

“REV Group has made a major investment in time, money and staffing to create a state of the art, one-stop shop for maintenance in the ambulance industry,” said Robert Collins, President, REV Ambulance Group. “On average, an ambulance chassis will last 150,000 to 175,000 miles while the box and interior typically have a much longer life, so remounting offers a major cost savings over purchasing a new ambulance. We offer ambulance operators a cost effective way to extend the life of their vehicles.”

The REV Remount Center not only features dedicated production space to the remounting operation, but also space allotted to a state of the art painting and preparation operation. The facility includes multiple down draft paint booths, dedicated body preparation stations equipped with new generation triple air filtration systems for improved overall finish quality, as well as providing enhanced protection of the environment. Ambulance bodies can get media blasted in known corrosion areas, including body crevices to provide customers the highest quality paint finish. This facility space includes sub-assembly operations for HVAC, electrical systems/wire harness, lighting, upholstery, cabinetry and other assembly services. Additional space is provided for engineering services, inventory and administration.

The facility is currently set up to service the following REV and competitor brands:

  • American Emergency Vehicles (REV)
  • Wheeled Coach (REV)
  • Road Rescue (REV)
  • Horton (REV)
  • McCoy Miller (REV)
  • Marque (REV)
  • Frontline (REV)
  • Medtec

Providing unmatched customer value, all work is performed by a REV team trained to the same production standards that are consistent with a new REV ambulance. OEM chassis guidelines, such as Ford’s QVM Program are followed to ensure a customer’s satisfaction with these services.
