Statcomm Posts New Blog and Video about a Case Study Involving a Recent Fire Sprinkler System Installation

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., July 12, 2017 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- The founders of Statcomm, a complete fire alarm and life safety company located in Mountain View, California, are pleased to announce that they just posted a new blog and video that detail a recent case study about a large project they just completed.

As the new blog noted, the friendly and experienced team at Statcomm knows firsthand how every project is a bit different. Each client, space and application has its own unique set of needs, limitations and options. Recently, the company had the chance to demonstrate its commitment to attention to detail, safety, teamwork and communication when they won the bid to redo a major electronics supplier's warehouse fire sprinkler system.

The client had a number of large storage racks, each one served by its own sprinklers, lines and risers. When the owner of the electronics supplier's warehouse decided to move the racks, it was quickly determined that they needed the expert help from Statcomm.

"Because the sprinklers were built into the racks themselves, the lines and risers had to be eliminated and rerouted to maintain the integrity of the system without leaving the system hanging in space, where it would have been more of an obstruction than an aid," the new blog noted, adding that what clinched Statcomm's bid for this project was their experience with engineering and creating fire suppression systems for challenging spaces under challenging circumstances.

After assessing the situation, Statcomm technicians Junior and Juan, and Supervisor Juan determined that they would have to remove approximately 300 horizontal feet of pipe and 15 to 20 fire risers, which are the vertical pipes that transport fire suppressant or water between different system elevations. The plan had to be approved by the local building authority and Fire Marshal to ensure the system would continue to comply with both building codes and relevant fire safety regulations.

Working in tandem with client representatives, the team from Statcomm dismantled the rack-mounted fire suppression systems. Because the shelves held electronics, they had to be extra careful not to get them wet.

"As the existing lines, rises, sprinklers and drains were removed, client personnel set to work breaking down the racks themselves," the article noted.

The team from Statcomm was able to complete the huge job on time, and under budget, the article noted.

"The system checked out flawlessly, leaving yet another satisfied client and another successful Statcomm job."
