2017 Blackboard Charitable Giving Program Grants Process Now Open

NEW ORLEANS, July 27, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Blackboard Inc., a leading education technology company for teaching, learning and student engagement, announced that it is now accepting applications for the 2017 Blackboard Charitable Giving Program. The program supplies grants to eligible organizations globally to help foster educational initiatives in local communities. The announcement was made at BbWorld and DevCon 2017, Blackboard's annual conference focused on helping institutions meet the needs of their learners, taking place July 24-27 in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The mission of the Blackboard Charitable Giving Program is to leverage Blackboard's resources to improve the effectiveness and availability of education by promoting, providing, and supporting educational opportunities globally.

In 2016, Blackboard was honored to award grants to the following six outstanding organizations: ArtWorks 4 ENA, Inc., Byte Back, City Year Washington, D.C., Clarke Schools for Hearing and Speech, International Minority Hub and the John Knight Curiosity Lab. These organizations are helping make a difference for learners in their local communities.
