/R E P E A T -- Media Advisory - Official opening of Canada's newest and largest radio telescope to map the cosmos/

KALEDEN, BC, Sept. 1, 2017 /CNW/ - The Honourable Kirsty Duncan, Minister of Science, with representatives from the National Research Council of Canada, the University of British Columbia, McGill University, and the University of Toronto are launching Canada's newest and largest radio telescope, the Canadian Hydrogen Intensity Mapping Experiment also known as CHIME.

Minister Duncan, accompanied by CHIME representatives, will install the final piece of this radio telescope which will map cosmic structure over the largest volume of the Universe ever observed. A tour of the installations will follow. Spokespeople will be available on-site for interviews.
