Strong Women Become Stronger Together:
TAMPA, Fla., Sept. 18, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Dynamic Communities, the supporting organization behind the Microsoft Dynamics User Groups (D365UG/AXUG, D365UG/CRMUG, GPUG, NAVUG, DSLUG, PUG), has united hundreds of female tech experts in its Special Interest Group (SIG), the Women in Dynamics SIG. The group connects women across all User Groups, creating a diverse pool of female-powered expertise and experience.
"It's a place where women can come together with other like-minded women to connect, learn from, and support each other," says Kelly Kane, active SIG Leader for the Women in Dynamics SIG and Microsoft's first female user-company recipient of the Microsoft MVP for Microsoft Dynamics AX.
Kane recalls feeling "floored" after attending a Dynamics-related Tech conference in early 2017 that drew a crowd of 1500 men and only 100 women. Dynamic Communities hopes this year's annual Nashville Summit conference will reflect the growth of the Women in Dynamics SIG with more women in attendance this October.
"As a child, I remember watching Wonder Woman on TV and wanting to be a strong woman just like her. As I grew older, my ideas around being a strong woman have changed," said Kane.
The Women in Dynamics SIG strives to engage with its members using content that relates to women. In 2017, topics have included "Negotiation," "How to be Assertive Without Being Aggressive," and "Dealing with Negative Feedback"-- just to name a few. Members from around the world learn and discuss via forum discussions, webinars, a book club, and virtual roundtable discussions. The SIG was launched in 2015 and had 24 members that year; it has grown exponentially and today has over 192 active members.
"I see that there are so many ways a woman can be strong without having an invisible jet and a lasso of truth. Part of being a strong woman is knowing what makes you thrive, and one thing I have noticed is that women thrive when they are part of a tribe."
