The Alliance Center Partners with Tesla, Nissan, BMW and Chevy for EV Test Drive Event in LoDo

DENVER, Sept.19, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Alliance Center in downtown Denver, Colorado is hosting, "Ride into the Future: An EV Showcase," between 11am and 2pm on Wednesday, September 20(th) in the Alliance Center parking lot. The event is free and open to the public. During the showcase, attendees can test drive electric vehicles from Tesla, BMW, Nissan and Chevy. Electric bikes from Pedego Southlands will also be available to test ride. As long as attendees register to drive/ride by 2pm, they will be guaranteed a spot. Crissy Fanganello, the Director of Transportation and Mobility for the City of Denver, will do the ribbon cutting for the event. The event will feature lunch from Spicy Catering Mexican Food. Community members and Alliance Center tenants will host tables featuring a range of information about sustainable transportation options.

The EV Showcase will celebrate the installation of LoDo's first and only DC Fast Charger for electric vehicles. The charging station is available to the public and is conveniently located in The Alliance Center's parking lot between 15(th) and 16(th) Street on Wynkoop Street. The fast charger will charge typical electric vehicles up to 80% in approximately 30-45 minutes. It can charge fast enough to allow a driver to have 200 miles of range in one hour's time of charging. All vehicles on the market can connect to the unit, including Teslas, if the owner has an adapter, as is typically the case.

The electric vehicle movement is gaining ground in Colorado and around the country. According to the Regional Air Quality Council, (RACQ), Colorado currently offers nearly 500 EV charging stations and more than 800 charging outlets throughout the state, which are available to the general public. In addition, consumers in Colorado qualify for up to $12,500 between federal and state tax credits for owning an EV, which are the highest incentives in the nation. And, compared to other transportation fuels, electricity is the cheapest. At $1.09/eGallon, operating a vehicle on electricity is $1.20/gallon cheaper than gasoline in Colorado. In addition to becoming increasingly economical, electric vehicles reduce GHG emissions by 43% compared to the average gasoline vehicle on the road.

To RSVP for the event, please visit The Alliance Center's Facebookpage. Individuals who RSVP ahead of time will be registered for giveaway prizes, including a $100 gift card from eGo CarShare.
