BlackBag Technologies Announces Ken Basore as New CEO

BlackBag Technologies, the makers of BlackLight, MacQuisition and Mobilyze, announced today that it has appointed Ken Basore as Chief Executive Officer, effective September 18, 2017. Previous Chief Executive Officer and co-founder, Ben Charnota, will remain with the company in the role of Chief Customer Officer, while co-founder and Chief Technology Officer Derrick Donnelly will assume the role of Chief Scientist.

Prior to joining BlackBag Technologies, Mr. Basore was Senior Vice President of Product Engineering for Guidance Software. During his 17-year tenure, Mr. Basore held executive roles in engineering, training, information technology, and professional services. Most recently Mr. Basore was responsible for all aspects of product engineering for existing and future products. His responsibilities included overseeing all product management functions as well as design, engineering, release and technical support of all software and hardware.

With his many years of experience in law enforcement, information technology, and forensic investigations, Mr. Basore brings to this role a deep understanding of the customer point-of-view. A police officer for 20 years, he was responsible for leading the development of the first Regional Computer Forensics Laboratory in San Diego, California, and has personally conducted hundreds of digital investigations. Coupled with his vast experience leading the creation and delivery of many types of software and hardware solutions, Mr. Basore brings trusted business experience and a proven leadership ability needed to promote the mission and unique culture of BlackBag Technologies.
