Commvault Highlights Digital Transformation Through Strong Integration to Microsoft Azure at Microsoft Ignite

ORLANDO, Fla. and REDMOND, Wash. and TINTON FALLS, N.J., Sept. 27, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Commvault (NASDAQ: CVLT), a global leader in enterprise data management including backup, recovery, archive, search and the cloud, today announced it will be demonstrating integrations with Microsoft at Microsoft Ignite on Sept. 25-29 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla, building on nearly 20 years of innovation and collaboration between the two companies.

Commvault will showcase its ability to help customers accelerate data migration through its support for new Microsoft technologies and features, such as Microsoft Azure Archive Blob Storage, a service on the Azure cloud platform providing customers with considerable cost savings for storing data with long retention and compliance requirements.

"We are pleased to continue to build on Microsoft and Commvault's long-standing collaboration," said Dean Paron, Director, Azure Data Box, Microsoft Corp. "The productivity, intelligence and hybrid capabilities of Microsoft Azure, combined with Commvault's expertise in enterprise data management, support our mutual customers with a trusted solution on their journey to the cloud."

Commvault's support of Azure, now including Archive Blob Storage, advances the digital transformation for customers as the needs for data management, including protection, archive and disaster recovery become increasingly impactful on their business. Through the Commvault Data Platform, customers can accelerate data migration to the cloud, enabling them to use and manage their data in the cloud to gain strategic business value and insight. According to a recent survey of Commvault customers, 73 percent of customers said that they are seeing the cloud benefits they originally expected.

Also at Ignite, Commvault will discuss its support for the Azure Data Box preview, a simple, cost-effective solution that enables enterprises to seamlessly move data workloads to Azure by loading data locally and then shipping it to the Azure data center for ingestion. Commvault's support of the Azure Data Box provides increased disaster recovery options in the cloud, improving overall operational efficiency and eliminating network and internet connection bottlenecks.

In addition to support of Azure Archive Blob Storage and Azure Data Box, Commvault will also highlight its data management integration for Azure Stack, the on-premises cloud option for large enterprises and managed services providers.

"Digital transformation is driving the cloud data discussion - people need to better manage data in Microsoft Azure and their on-premises data centers," said Randy De Meno, Chief Technologist, Microsoft Products, Commvault. "From CIOs to storage administrators, everyone shares the goal of improving data management for business gains. Our relationship with Microsoft and our use of each other's technologies enables us to deliver tightly integrated products and tested best practices to our joint customers."

Commvault's strong support for Microsoft technologies also extends to Microsoft Office 365. Enterprises can use the Commvault Data Platform to make Office 365 data and content e-discoverable and searchable for compliance within a heterogeneous, enterprise-wide, storage agnostic, poly-cloud software solution. Microsoft's 17-year relationship with Commvault and usage of Commvault in products like Xbox and Microsoft Office 365 and ADP has enabled it to deliver best practices to Commvault customers at a global scale.

Commvault is a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner and was among the first to be Azure certified - allowing the entire Commvault data management solution to run just as efficiently in Azure/ as it can on-premises. In July 2017, Microsoft named Commvault a 2017 IMPACT Award winner in the ISV Cloud Innovation Category.
