Additionally, OpenEBS also announced the appointment of Murat Karslioglu as their VP Solutions.

Most recently, Murat was in the Advanced Development group at HPE Storage, helping lead their storage management in hyper-converged and container technology strategies. Previously, he was at Nexenta Systems in the office of the CTO.

OpenEBS v.0.4 continues the direction of OpenEBS towards ever greater ease of use. By being containerized and integrated into leading orchestration solutions, OpenEBS allows DevOps teams to simply manage their own storage without being concerned about cloud lock-in or performance challenges of centralized, scale out storage systems.

About the current progress, Evan Powell, CEO of OpenEBS said:

"OpenEBS seems to have struck a nerve amongst users that want simplicity and the ability for each workload to have its own storage controller. It's a real pleasure to work with Murat again - an original thinker who in his career has helped to deliver storage-based solutions to some of the most demanding enterprises. His focus on solutions and partnerships will help us further simplify adoption of OpenEBS."

Murat Karslioglu said: "I share a vision with the leaders of OpenEBS - that containerization and microservices opens up a new approach to storage and data services that can far better empower DevOps teams while avoiding the cloud lock-in that so many enterprises rightly fear. We're building much more than we have talked about yet and I'm excited about joining one of the best teams of storage engineers in the industry."
