Toshiba Awarded Controls Upgrade for Red Oak Power Plant

Toshiba America Energy Systems Corporation (TAES), a subsidiary of Toshiba Corporation, has been awarded a contract valued near one million U.S. dollars to provide a controls upgrade for the Red Oak combined-cycle power station, an 823 MW natural-gas fired plant located in Sayreville, New Jersey.

“The more modern controls offer broader control capability, improved Human Machine Interface, performance trending, improved reliability and more,” said Lee Hietpas, Vice President of TAES’s Thermal Services Business Unit. “We are pleased to have been chosen to perform this upgrade, which should provide Red Oak with operational security for many years to come.”

In addition to performing the upgrade, TAES will provide the customer with on-site training on the new controls system.
