Orbital ATK Raises $1.3 Million in Annual Employee United Way Campaign

Orbital ATK, Inc. (NYSE: OA), a global leader in aerospace and defense technologies, today announced that through its 2017-2018 United Way campaign, the company raised $1.3 million. This year’s campaign total includes employee pledges, local fundraisers, cash donations, and a ten percent matching contribution from the company. In addition to these traditional campaign efforts, the company contributed almost $200,000 in both corporate funds and employee donated personal time off to the United Way for relief efforts in areas affected by hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria.

“We are proud to support the United Way and to give continued funding to member agencies that provide our communities with critical human services,” said Blake Larson, Orbital ATK’s Chief Operating Officer. “This year presented a unique situation with multiple disasters in areas where our employees and customers live and work and we are proud to be able to make a generous contribution to help these communities in their recovery efforts.”

In addition to financial contributions, employees across the company volunteered at local Day of Caring events throughout the month of September. Orbital ATK set a record with its Day of Caring events in Chandler and Guadalupe, Arizona, having the most volunteers from one company in the state. With 120 Arizona-based employee volunteers, the team provided 691 volunteer hours supporting two local elementary schools in beautification projects. Also, for the 12th year in a row, employees from Orbital ATK’s Aerospace Structures Division in Utah sponsored a fun-filled day with laughs, face painting, a baseball game and barbeque lunch for moderately to severely disabled adults at the Pioneer Adult Rehabilitation Center (PARC) in Clearfield, Utah.

Larson praised the many volunteers who organized and participated in on-site fundraisers, activities and events over the last several weeks. “The efforts of our employee volunteers will help some of our neighbors gain self-sufficiency and become productive members of our community; give others a fresh start by providing food, shelter and job training; help families overcome obstacles through available counseling; and provide our youth with safe and productive social environments.”
