Women of Excellence Honored by MetalForming Magazine

MetalForming magazine, in conjunction with the Precision Metalforming Association (PMA), has identified 37 outstanding women in the metalforming and fabricating industries for its 2017 Women of Excellence list. This second annual list will be published in the November issue of MetalForming magazine and online at www.metalformingmagazine.com.

“The goal of the Women in Excellence list is to recognize and promote the importance of women in the metalforming and fabricating industries,” said Brad Kuvin, MetalForming publisher/editorial director. “The women on this year’s list represent not only some of the brightest and best in the business today, but also serve to inspire other women to take on leadership roles in manufacturing.”

The honorees on this year’s list – 26 winners and 11 recipients of honorable mention recognition – were selected by MetalForming’s editorial staff based on criteria including longevity, accomplishments and other attributes.

Kuvin continued, “While the women on this year’s list arrived at manufacturing careers in different ways, they share a passion for our industry. They believe that manufacturing is exciting and worthwhile—an industry that offers challenges and rewards in equal measure and is, most definitely, a place for women.”

“The drive to increase manufacturing opportunities for women and recognize their skills long has been part of PMA’s mission,” said Allison Grealis, vice president of association services for PMA, and president and founder of Women in Manufacturing. “The women on this list are powerful examples of outstanding female talent and extraordinary manufacturing careers.”

PMA is the full-service trade association representing the $137-billion metalforming industry of North America—the industry that creates precision metal products using stamping, fabricating, spinning, slide forming and roll forming technologies, and other value-added processes. Its nearly 800 member companies also include suppliers of equipment, materials and services to the industry. PMA leads innovative member companies toward superior competitiveness and profitability through advocacy, networking, statistics, the PMA Educational Foundation, FABTECH and METALFORM Mexico tradeshows, and MetalForming, Fabricating Product News and 3D Metal Printing magazines.
