Local Now Joins XUMO as First Hyper-Local, Dynamic Channel

ATLANTA, Nov. 29, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Weather Group today announced the addition of the Local Now streaming service to XUMO, bringing viewers a new and innovative way to get hyper-local, news, sports and weather.

Local Now delivers real-time, localized news and information on current events, weather, lifestyle, sports, business and traffic from content partners including the Associated Press, Foursquare, American City Business Journals, Stadium, Cheddar, Nextdoor, SportRadar, Fresco, TrafficLand, INRIX, Flight Aware and more.

Starting today, viewers will have the opportunity to take advantage of Local Now's offerings on XUMO, which delivers over-the-top (OTT) video-on-demand (VOD) and live, premium digital channels direct to consumers through smart TV, mobile and other streaming device integrations, such as LG Electronics, VIZIO, Panasonic, Hisense and more. The Local Now channel will first be available on Channel Plus, exclusively powered by XUMO, for LG Electronics as channel IP-126. The Local Now stream will dynamically update in the Channel Plus service based on the viewer's location selection.
