ELS awarded the Baggage Handling System O&M Contract at CLE

Daifuku Elite Line Services (ELS) is pleased to announce its selection to assume full operations and maintenance responsibility for the newly commissioned Daifuku Jervis B. Webb In-Line Baggage Handling System by the airlines serving Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE).

The four-year service contract will include the operation and maintenance of 5,500 linear feet of conveyor, 11 claim units, 421 drives, 100 power turns, 12 high speed diverters and 6 make up units and also include operational responsibilities for control room monitoring, manual encoding and jam clearing. Additionally, ELS will maintain 31 of Daifuku’s latest innovation - Mobile Inspection Tables (MITs) - which were designed to improve the efficiency and ergonomics in the TSA Checked Baggage Resolution Area (CBRA).

“ELS is excited by the opportunity to extend its market leading O&M services at the birth place of aviation, and looks forward to building a close working relationship with the airlines and the airport. The new CLE program adds to the company’s substantial 2017 airport business expansion and we consider this as further evidence that the quality and consistency of our maintenance programs better position us to meet the needs of our customers.” (Ian Charters, COO).

The Cleveland Hopkins O&M Contract marks the 3rd airport service contract for ELS to start up in 2017.
