Ingersoll Rand Earns Perfect Score on Human Rights Campaign Foundation Corporate Equality Index for Second Year

The Human Rights Campaign Foundation (HRC) awarded Ingersoll Rand (NYSE:IR), a world leader in creating comfortable, sustainable and efficient environments, a perfect score of 100 percent in workplace equality on its 2018 Corporate Equality Index (CEI). This is the second consecutive year Ingersoll Rand has earned a perfect score on the index.

Every year HRC conducts the CEI, rating top employers on workplace equality for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) workers. HRC promotes the adoption of LGBTQ specific language into leading policies, benefits and practices for their employees and families.

“We respect and value our people’s diverse cultures, backgrounds and perspectives, and understand the diversity of our team makes us a stronger company around the world,” said Michael W. Lamach, chairman and CEO of Ingersoll Rand. “With the support of our global employees, we continuously focus on creating an environment where our people can learn and thrive in their careers in an inclusive and progressive organization. Sustained leadership on the Corporate Equality Index recognizes our winning culture and commitment to empowering our people.”

The CEI rating criteria is points driven and includes prohibiting discrimination based on gender identity and sexual orientation for all operations within the company and its vendors. Other criteria consist of equivalent spousal and partner medical benefits, transgender-exclusive health insurance coverage and an employer-supported employee resource group (ERG).

“The top-rated employers in this year’s Corporate Equality Index have demonstrated that LGBTQ equality is not just right, but smart business,” said Deena Fidas, Workplace Equality Program Director. “By implementing LGBTQ-inclusive policies, practices and benefits, Ingersoll Rand is helping to lead the way towards full equality for all, as well as strengthening its ability to attract and retain a diverse, talented workforce.”

Ingersoll Rand has seven ERGs companywide, including the Women’s Network, Black Employee Network, New Net for newly hired employees, Veterans Employee Resource Group, Asian Employee Resource Group, Global Organization of Latinos, and the PRIDE Employee Resource Group, which encompasses lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender employees and their allies. PRIDE’s goal is to create a safe and diverse environment within Ingersoll Rand that values the contributions of all LGBTQ individuals and allies.
