TPCAST US Brings the First Commercial Wireless Adapter for the Oculus Rift to the American Market

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Dec. 7, 2017 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- TPCAST, the leader in wireless virtual reality (VR) technology announced today the launch of its wireless adapter supporting the Oculus Rift headset. TPCAST is the first to introduce a commercial Wireless Adapter for Virtual Reality, which preserves the video quality and application performance. TPCAST has already been supporting wireless VR for the HTC Vive around the world and demonstrating high video quality and low latency. Pre-orders will be accepted on TPCAST's online store throughout the U.S. and Canada, starting Monday, December 11th.

The current high-end VR headsets are driven by a cable transmitting the video, voice, data, and power utilizing HDMI, USB, and power connectors. With TPCAST, Oculus Rift users will be able to enjoy a wireless VR experience, as they roam around freely and play games, while preserving the same high quality as a standard wired connection. TPCAST's wireless support for the Oculus Rift Head-Mounted Display will allow the North American users to experience real freedom - the freedom to explore a beautiful scene, to turn 360 degrees, jump, and even flip without impediment.

"I have been following the VR market for the past several years and I'm excited about TPCAST's new wireless VR product that makes my VR headset wireless. TPCAST is helping to bring the VR experience to a whole new level by removing the cord and allowing you so much more freedom when you are using the Oculus Rift," via Micah Blumberg Founder of Silicon Valley Global News SVGN.io and Organizer of San Francisco Virtual Reality SFVR360.com, "You have to try this to understand how freeing it is to be able to spin around and around without needing to worry about tripping over a cord."

"Following the OC4 announcement, TPCAST is excited to announce the availability of the first and only wireless adapter for Oculus Rift HMD. We are committed to the VR market, and we will continue driving the company vision of supporting all VR HMDs," stated Udi Yuhjtman, TPCAST General Manager of North America. "The adapter provides the Rift VR users a unique, high-quality immersive experience, allowing complete freedom of movement."

The wireless adapter supports 2K video transmission at 90Fps with sub 2ms latency. The adapter comes with a battery to power the headset and the wireless module and can last for up to 5 hours of operation. This wireless adapter gives enterprise content developers the freedom to create more innovative content in many industries including automotive, healthcare, oil & gas, real estate and more.
