DigiLens Adds Technology Licensing and Ecosystem Sale Expert Remi Lacombe to Executive Team

DigiLens Inc., the Silicon Valley-based startup revolutionizing AR displays through innovative waveguide optics, has announced its latest addition to its growing executive team, Remi Lacombe — a business development executive known for his expertise in licensing and setting up enabling ecosystems. Lacombe will serve as Vice President of Sales and Technology Partnerships, signing up new manufacturing partners, driving up revenue growth, and bringing DigiLens enabled heads-up displays and head-mounted displays to market.

"Remi has designed technology at major consumer technology companies worldwide. He will be instrumental in growing our ecosystem of manufacturers and OEMs, both in the industrial and consumer segments," said CEO of DigiLens Chris Pickett. "We are thrilled to have Remi on the DigiLens executive team."

For the past four years, Lacombe was VP of Sales and Marketing at InVisage Technologies Inc., an image sensor company recently acquired by Apple specializing in visible and depth cameras. At InVisage, Lacombe created strategic relationships in China, Japan and the USA in order to successfully launch the visible and depth camera reference designs.

Prior to InVisage, Lacombe spent nine years at DxO Labs designing imaging technologies at many smartphone manufacturers on three different continents. He led several entrepreneurial ventures including serving as CEO of Zandan and Co-Founder of PAS International. He previously held positions at C-Cube Microsystems, Chorus Systems and Sun Microsystems. Lacombe received his master’s degree in Engineering Management from Stanford University and holds Applied Science and Engineering degrees from Ecole Polytechnique and Ecole Nationale Superieure des Telecommunications, both in Paris, France.

"I have taken three businesses from no revenue to a profitable stage and a successful exit most recently with InVisage. I am now really excited to help to accelerate DigiLens’ technology into multiple markets. The DigiLens technology is the best option for car manufacturers looking to create compelling heads up display experiences as well as technology companies bringing to market true AR experiences for head-mounted displays. I am excited to be working with the talented and driven DigiLens team," said Lacombe.

About DigiLens

DigiLens’ waveguide optics and displays will allow many OEMs to finally access eyeglass-thin waveguide component technology for AR applications. Along with strategic partners, including Panasonic, Sony, Continental, Rockwell Collins and Foxconn, DigiLens has been steadily developing the requisite optical materials and recordation processes to manufacture precision diffractive optics by photographically printing (not etching) the nanostructures. These electrically Switchable Bragg Gratings (SBG) allow for a higher efficiency and a wider field of view AR display, in addition to the “printable” low cost manufacturing benefit. DigiLens has undertaken an extensive development process funded over many years from military research grants and corporate R&D support.
