Calspan Awarded FMVSS 214 Contract

BUFFALO, N.Y., Dec. 14, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Calspan is pleased to announce it has been awarded the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) contract for executing automotive crash tests to verify that vehicles comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 214, Side Impact Protection. Under this five year contract, Calspan will provide the necessary qualified personnel, facilities, and equipment to perform inspection, compliance testing, and reporting services.

Calspan delivers superior automotive safety testing services to support government programs, vehicle manufacturers, and regulatory agencies. In January of 2018, Calspan will open a state-of-the-art crash test facility to support the growing needs of the automotive crash test industry.

The FMVSS 214 tests will be performed in Calspan's new crash testing laboratory, located in Buffalo, New York. This newly designed and constructed facility utilizes the most advanced crash testing technology and equipment available.
