Modern Leaf Partners with mdBriefCase Group Inc. and Advancing Practice; Secures Strategic Investment to Launch Cannabis Education and Proposed Ecommerce Platform

WINNIPEG, Dec. 18, 2017 /CNW/ - Modern Leaf is proud to announce an educational partnership with leading online medical education company mdBriefCase Group Inc. on a unique cannabis knowledge platform.

With first round funding of $1.6mm from strategic investors and founders, Modern Leaf's Certified Cannabis Guides will help customers discover new products and make informed choices that are right for them through its newly relaunched website, www.modernleaf.ca.

Modern Leaf's industry-leading training centres and proposed easy-to-use e-commerce platform, paired with its cannabis lifestyle content and news, will make Modern Leaf Canada's go-to source for recreational cannabis information.

"Our goal is to provide an attractive, high quality, responsible and ongoing educational service for Canadians who want more than to walk into a store and buy cannabis without a proper understanding of their individual needs, the plant itself, and how it interacts with their body," says Modern Leaf Managing Director, Preston Drummond.

Modern Leaf's cannabis education programs will be powered by mdBriefCase's Cannabis IQ Program. mdBriefCase has trained more than 140,000 healthcare professionals over 16 years and its partnership with Modern Leaf is backed by Alex Revich, the creator of its Cannabis IQ program. Through this joint effort, Alex will provide guidance and direction for Modern Leaf's information and education services. Alex began his cannabis career with MedReleaf Corp (TSX:LEAF), a licensed producer, as Director of Partner Development; he is a highly regarded thought leader in the Canadian cannabis industry.

"I have always been a big believer in the importance of fact-based and unbiased cannabis education and Modern Leaf shares my passion for this," says Revich.

Modern Leaf's initial foray into the cannabis education and product services system is through their response to the current Manitoba Request for Proposal for Cannabis Retail Stores. Modern Leaf's unique structure allows for rapid scale, and gives efficient access to employment and quality cannabis products in remote areas and smaller municipalities, as well as Winnipeg and Brandon.

Modern Leaf seeks to offer Manitobans high quality education and access to the right products for the right consumer when recreational cannabis is legalized.

Drummond added, "We look forward to seeing what opportunities may come from Manitoba, Saskatchewan, British Columbia, and other provinces as regulations continue to roll out. We are agile and have planned for multiple outcomes of our applications and varying regulatory hurdles."

Modern Leaf is a cannabis education service providing a controlled, guided sales process and premium quality cannabis products through ecommerce, online and in person support, and training centres.
