Screens International wins Business of the Year 2018 at BLC Brilliant Lebanese Awards

BEIRUT, Nov. 20, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Hundreds of local business applications were put through 6 months of rigorous study by BLC in order to honor the Business of the Year award to the company that shows the most influence and innovative impact on Lebanese and international markets. The main event that held place in Beirut on the 16th of November, and that was broadcast through satellite and streaming platforms, culminated in crowning Screens International the prestigious title.

The company, leading a long list of subtitling and dubbing providers in over 40 languages, was represented by its CEO, Mr. Joseph Akiki, who translated the localization industry to millions of viewers worldwide. Being the world top provider of Arabic subtitling and Arabic dubbing with 1000 linguists and 11 recording studios, Screens truly deserved being rewarded such a title for its distinguished development of cloud-based subtitling tools, and services for the deaf and hard of hearing (SDH).

One of the main points that tipped the balance towards Screens was its 2018 expansion to Canada, strategically located in Montreal, to serve the North American market.

The company currently produces 80% of the MENA subtitling volume for television and film studios, and over 50% of the localized dubbed material in both forms stereo 2.0 and 5.1 surround.

In early 2019, Screens International intends to launch a cloud-based subtitling platform that will liaise studios and VOD platforms with language providers worldwide. This production has been in development for 2 years, carefully following the latest AI and Voice Recognition technologies, to be implemented in its computer-assisted production. This fact put Screens at the frontline of the localization industry, competing with only the two biggest providers from Europe and USA, and even taking the industry one step higher.

Since 1991, Screens followed a strict strategy of employing the best Arabic linguists available on the job market, following up with periodic language and technical trainings to maintain its reputation in being the best company to provide the highest localization quality, at record speeds. This trend continued in recent years with the adoption of other language services, notably French, English, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Turkish and Persian subtitling and dubbing.

CEO Akiki impressed the jury and audience with his eloquence in showcasing Screens and the services it provides, not forgetting to thank each and every one of the employees, linguists, partners, and clients spread over 5 continents. The company was the first to adopt the HD technology back in the 90s, and currently doing the same pioneering with advanced machine learning developments that are due to be released on the cloud-based subtitling platform in February 2019.

On a regional scale, Screens is providing Arabic subtitling and dubbing to all major television networks and video-on-demand platforms. The company's presence is noticeably the favorite vendor of said services for European broadcasters as well.
