A Hole-in-One: Herman Cook Volkswagen Helps 9th Annual San Diego County Public Defender Community Outreach Program's Charity Golf Tournament be a Rousing Success
ENCINITAS, Calif., May 2, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Herman Cook Volkswagen, a dealership located in Encinitas, California, continued its recent string of community support activities by helping sponsor the 9th Annual San Diego County Public Defender Community Outreach Program's Charity Golf Tournament and Dinner.
Herman Cook Volkswagen sponsored two hole-in-one prizes for the golf tournament, which took place on April 1 at the Riverwalk Golf Club. One hole featured a $250 gift certificate for the course's pro shop while the other hole featured a new iPad as the prize.
In addition to the signature golf tournament, the charity event featured a special charity dinner, an awards ceremony and a charity auction. All proceeds from the event went to benefit the Friends of San Pasqual Academy.
As the name suggests, the Friends of San Pasqual Academy group supports the San Pasqual Academy, which is residential education campus specially designed to house and educate foster teens. The academy, which is located in Escondido, is the first of its kind in the country and is made up of a 238-acre campus full of family style homes, a fully accredited high school, a cafeteria, a technology and career information center, an auditorium, recreation fields, a gym, a health and wellness center, a day rehab clinic and a swimming pool. The goal of the academy is to get foster teens educated and ready for college and everything else that comes after.
