WagerTalk Announces New Parent Company, Ownership Changes

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 13, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- WagerTalk, the largest sports betting content provider in the world, has finalized the formation of its new parent company, WagerTalk Media.

WTM will serve as the anchor for WagerTalk, SportsMemo, and Gold Sheet focusing on the continued growth of all three businesses and identifying future acquisition opportunities.

Rick Allec has been named CEO of WagerTalk Media and will oversee the corporate-level operations of all current and future WTM properties. John Adamczak will take the role of COO for all properties and Lawrence Prezman will continue his role as CBDO. WagerTalk co-founder Marco D'Angelo will continue to serve as Director of Video Production in Las Vegas.

"I am excited to join the WTM team. I have watched WagerTalk grow from start-up to an industry leader in a short amount of time, and I look forward to leading all of our properties to the next level." Allec said. "With Johnny's operational expertise and Lawrence's vision for growth, I expect WTM to see exponential growth in all current and future revenue streams."

With over three decades of experience in the sports betting industry, Allec has been a mainstay on both sides of the counter. After working with some of the world's largest bookmakers in the 1980s, Allec moved into software development and created programs to help sportsbooks manage their accounting, player tracking, and risk assessment.

In 1999, Allec joined the Don Best team and managed the release of their flagship odds products. Using his broad experience in the industry, Allec guided Don Best through massive growth, leading to one of the largest acquisitions in the space at that time.

In 2007, Allec founded SportsOptions and quickly grew the company into a force in the betting line service industry. With a reputation for the fastest updates, SportsOptions became a must-have tool for sportsbooks and sports bettors around the world.

"It was an easy decision to make Rick Allec the CEO of WagerTalk Media," Prezman said. "He is perfectly suited to guide WagerTalk Media through the next phase of our growth and expansion. He is very professional and will be implementing a professional corporate culture and processes. I cannot find the words to explain how excited we all are to have Rick as the CEO."

"Rick Allec is one of the most respected names in our industry and having him as the CEO of Wagertalk Media just solidifies WagerTalk as the industry leader in sports betting content and information," D'Angelo said.

In August 2018, WagerTalk appointed Kelly Stewart as Director of Media Relations. Stewart has been instrumental in growing the brand's digital footprint over the past year. Alongside D'Angelo, Gianni "The Greek Gambler" and Ralph Michaels, Stewart hosts the hit show 'Bet on It' where the panel tackles the best college and pro football contests for the upcoming week.

"It is so exciting to have Rick Allec taking on the role of CEO of WagerTalk Media," Stewart said. "His years of experience and knowledge of this industry is unprecedented. The future of WagerTalk, Sportsmemo and Gold Sheet is brighter than ever."

Founded in July 2015, WagerTalk's team of writers, handicappers, and personalities create sports betting news and how-to content from across the globe. The brand's YouTube channel has generated over 10.3 million views for its weekly sports betting videos. WagerTalk produces a daily radio show from ESPN Las Vegas, daily television content for SportsGrid, and publishes a series of daily podcasts on a variety of sports.
