Instructure To Award $25,000 Through National Student Scholarship Contest

SALT LAKE CITY, March 11, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Instructure Canvas, the integrated learning management platform that has connected millions of instructors and learners at more than 5,000 educational institutions globally, today announced it will award $25,000 in scholarships in its second annual Student Scholarship Contest. The scholarship contest, "Note to Self," is open to K-12 students using Canvas in the U.S. and is accepting nominations from students and teachers through May 8.

"Last year, we were inspired by three exceptional students' stories of triumph and vision for their futures," said Marta DeBellis, CMO at Instructure. "This year, we're asking students to reflect on the lessons they've learned in life and in school, and how these lessons will help them for years to come. We are honored to play a part in helping students achieve their educational dreams."

A total of four scholarship recipients will be selected across two categories: student-video applicants and teacher-nominated applicants. Two grand prize winners will take home $7,500, and two other winners will receive honorable mentions worth $5,000. All scholarship contributions will be deposited into the student's 529 College Savings Plan account.

The winning students will be flown to Nashville, Tennessee for the scholarship presentation at InstructureCon, a premier educational technology conference on July 28-30, 2020. Winners will be notified on June 1, 2020 and announced publicly during the conference.
