Colfax-Mingo High Selects Shaw Sports Turf For Tigerhawk Field
COLFAX, Iowa, Sept. 17, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Colfax-Mingo High School is taking its athletic program to the next level. The school's Tigerhawk Field will be the first school in Central Iowa to feature Shaw Sports Turf, putting their sports facility on the leading edge of synthetic turf technology.
When asked why they selected Shaw Sports Turf, Colfax-Mingo Community School District Superintendent Erik Anderson said, "There were multiple reasons. The school will install Shaw Sport Turf's Legion 2.0 synthetic turf. Legion is a combination of high-performance monofilament fibers and a durable slit film fiber. The slit film fiber is a workhorse which will handle the workload, while the monofilament provides a more resilient surface that enhances performance characteristics. Legion uses Bolt, a premium lightning bolt shaped monofilament fiber. Legion Pro also features optimized face weight for performance and infill flyout control.
The field is primarily used for football and soccer but has the potential to be used for other activities including baseball, softball, track and cross country. It will also serve as a space for physical education classes and youth sports programs.

Installation of the new synthetic turf at Tigerhawk Field is set to be completed in July 2021.
