VUES Brno s.r.o., is the company dealing with design and production of special and non-standard AC electric rotating machines, electric drives and test stands with dynamometers. It has a long-time practice in the design, production and experimental verification in this branch and has adequate technical, experimental and manufacturing facilities available.

The company was founded on the basis of the Research Institute for Electric Rotating Machines that was established in 1947 as a development centre for the Czechoslovak electrical engineering industry.

At present the company has been dealing, besides repetitive small-lot production, mainly with development and production of special non-standard AC electric machines, electric drives and test stands with dynamometers.

The R&D department makes use of high-level know-how of experienced development workers supported by first-rate software products and experimental base in the testing laboratories. This development base guarantees that even the most demanding requirements of the customers are complied with in a high quality.

Production of power supply sets, certified for the application in the NATO armies and in the rescue corps, is also a significant field of activities of VUES Brno s.r.o.

VUES Brno s.r.o. has been certified for the deliveries for aircraft industry. In the field of customized designs we offer the tests to be carried out in the accredited testing department and in electrotechnical laboratories of VUES Brno s.r.o.

SERVOMOTORS

DYNAMIC SERIES WITH A LOW MOMENT OF INERTIA SERIES AM, M Motors with low moment of inertia, small section of the frame and long axial length of the motor (long motors). Cooling is achieved by natural convection. SERIES AMW, W Motors of the type AM, M adapted for water cooling, bringing about higher values of continuous torque and power output. SERIES AML, ML The series consists of the motors of AM and M series, provided with separate ventilation for achieving higher values of continuous torque and power output. COMPACT SERIES SERIES AF The series consists of compact motors with a bigger frame diameter and a shorter axial length (flat motors). SERIES AFW Motors of the type AF adapted for water cooling, bringing about higher values of continuous torque and power output. SERIES F The series consists of compact motors with a bigger frame diameter and a shorter axial length (flat servomotors with moment of inertia lower than in AF series). SERVOACTUATORS SERIES MA Servomotors with hollow shaft and built-in ball screw, cooling by natural convection, or water cooling.

LINEAR MOTORS

SYNCHRONOUS LINEAR MOTORS These motors are three-phase synchronous servomotors with the winding distributed in the primary part excited by permanent magnets of the type Nd-Fe-B that are a component of the secondary part of the linear motor. The type of cooling of primary parts is IC40 (natural cooling by the motor surface), or water cooling IC3W7 with an integrated or additional cooler. Synchronous linear motors are delivered in three series. Series L3S, L3SK Compact version in the sizes with force of 50 to 16 000 N, thrust speed from 0,01 mm/s to 15 m/s, and module of the active surface width 25 mm. Active width 25-250 mm (size L3S025-L3S250). Series L2S, L2SK Compact version in the sizes with force of 50 to 10 000 N, thrust speed from 0,01 mm/s to 15 m/s, and module of the active surface width 20 mm. Active width 25-160 mm (size L2S040-L2S200). Series L1S, L1SK Standard version in the sizes with force of 50 to 8 000 N, thrust speed from 0,01 mm/s to 15 m/s, and module of the active surface width 25 mm. Active width 25-160 mm (size L1S025-LS160). SYNCHRONOUS LINEAR MOTORS with primary part without ferromagnetic materials Primary parts of these linear motors are characterized by low mass, almost zero attractive forces between primary and secondary parts, high effectiveness and absence of thrust force pulsations. Because of these properties they are convenient for dynamic applications with high demands for thrust speed, acceleration, accuracy and low mass of the drive. INDUCTION LINEAR MOTORS The secondary part of the induction linear machine is made in a more simple and cost-effective version based on the squirrel cage. The squirrel cage consists of the winding placed in slots or of the aluminium (or copper) strip attached to the steel support plate. These undemanding drives have an advantage of the possibility of a direct supply from the standard distribution network 3 x 400 V/50 Hz without a necessity of application of a frequency converter. TUBULAR LINEAR MOTORS Tubular linear motors consist of the fixed cylindrical primary part with the winding being intensively cooled by water and of the external moving part made as a steel sleeve with permanent magnets. Due to the rotational symmetrical arrangement of the machine attractive magnetic forces between primary and secondary parts are compensated so that they are not transmitted to the driven equipment. The tubular motor has an advantage of the absence of thrust force pulsations.

INDUCTION DYNAMOMETERS

Induction dynamometers with power outputs from 1,1 kW to 10 kW These dynamometers are machines with the rack construction with natural cooling by air or with separate cooling. The braking power is low and its recuperation is not economical, that is why it is converted to heat in the braking resistor. Induction dynamometers with power outputs from 15 kW to 800 kW These dynamometers are machines with the box construction with separate cooling. This design allows a more efficient cooling. The dynamometers work in the four-quadrant operation. They are supplied from frequency converters enabling the braking energy to be fed back to the mains by means of the regenerative unit.

MACHINES WITH PERM. MAGNETS

Synchronous motors of SM series with permanent magnets with power outputs from 14 kW to 193 kW The motors are designed in four shaft heights from 112 mm to 180 mm, in the power output range from 14 kW to 193 kW. The motors can be made in open version, degree of protection IP23, or in enclosed version, degree of protection IP54, cooled by air or by liquid. These synchronous motors can be used also in generator operation. Synchronous torque motors of ROL series with permanent torque from 45 Nm to 9000 Nm These motors are made with permanent magnets on the rotor, with high torque values at a low speed. They have a high pole number. The motors are delivered commonly with water cooling. Synchronous lift motors of SVM 170 series with permanent magnets Lift motors of SVM 170 series have the rated torque from 220 Nm to 420 Nm. These motors are intended for direct drives of lifts without a gearbox. They are supplied by means of frequency converters. They can be delivered also as complete units, including rope sheave and axial brakes. Synchronous lift motors of SVM 250 series with permanent magnets Lift motors of SVM 250 series have the rated torque from 350 Nm to 1 250 Nm. These motors are intended for direct drives of lifts without a gearbox. They are supplied by means of frequency converters. They can be delivered also as complete units, including rope sheave and axial brakes. Big synchronous motors for extruder drives These synchronous motors are intended for the drives of extruders in the speed range from 60 rpm to 1200 rpm and in the torque range from 1 000 Nm to 20 000 Nm.

INDUCTION MOTORS

Induction motors of PM series in degree of protection IP23 or IP54 (with water-air heat exchanger) These motors are special vertical motors with power outputs from 150 kW to 800 kW, in the speed range from 150 rpm to 485 rpm, intended for direct drives of pumps. Induction motors of ASM series with power outputs from 14,5 kW to 500 kW These motors are special motors with power outputs from 14,5 kW to 500 kW, in the speed range from 170 rpm to 1050 rpm, intended for being mounted into test stands for the measurement of power output and braking effect of cars. Induction motors of PVE series These motors are special motors with power outputs from 12 kW to 700 kW, in the speed range from 140 rpm to 600 rpm, with increased mechanical ruggedness, intended for direct drives of screw presses. Induction motors of AMJ series These motors are special motors with power outputs from 2 kW to 160 kW, with the standard speed. The motors are qualified for applications in nuclear power stations - LOCA (loss of coolant) accident.

LOW-SPEED INDUCTION MOTORS

Low-speed induction motors of PM series with power outputs 4,8 kW and 8 kW Three-phase low-speed vertical induction motors are intended for direct (gearless) drives of axial fans applied in cooling microtowers. The motors can be made as two-speed ones, intended for being supplied directly from the mains 50 Hz. By request they can be delivered for the supply from frequency converters. Low-speed induction motors of PMH series with power outputs from 40 kW to 200 kW Three-phase low-speed vertical induction motors are intended for direct (gearless) drives of axial fans applied in cooling towers. The motors are intended for environments with ambient temperature up to 40 °C. They can be made as two-speed ones, intended for being supplied directly from the mains 50 Hz. By request they can be delivered for the supply from frequency converters. Low-speed induction motors of PMT series with power outputs from 40 kW to 110 kW Three-phase low-speed vertical induction motors are intended for direct (gearless) drives of axial fans applied in cooling towers. The motors are intended for environments with ambient temperature up to 60 °C. They can be made as two-speed ones, intended for being supplied directly from the mains 50 Hz. By request they can be delivered for the supply from frequency converters.

POWER SUPPLY SETS

Special power supply sets with power outputs from 0,5 kW to 180 kW comply with the requirements of NATO (STANAG) standards.

AIRCRAFT TECHNOLOGY LUN

We produce and deliver starters, main and standby on-board power sources and control electronics for aircraft technology.

TRACTION MACHINES

Traction synchronous generators of BGT series These generators with power outputs from 100 kW to 1 400 kW are intended as main generators for supplying the engines of diesel-electric traction units. Traction induction motors of AST series These motors with power outputs 75 kW, 90 kW and 110 kW are intended for tramway drives.
