ComPower AS, is established as a significant supplier of power electronics to offshore installations and civilian and military ships as well as telecommunication installations, hospitals and general industry. The Company's engineers have more than 20 years of experience in development and production of power electronics and power supply units to defense, telecommunications and offshore installations. The Company takes on assignments within the areas of system engineering, development, production and service.
ComPower is located in Bergen on the west coast of Norway. Close to Bergen international airport it is easily available to the International offshore industry for new deliveries, changes or adjustments, special products, training and emergency assistance.

Project and development

AC UPS
ComPower as customize, distribute and service a wide range of AC UPS systems. The Company customizes solutions according to specifications. This includes DNV, Lloyd's, ABS, Bureau Veritas and other certification standards.
BATTERIES
The company supplies, tests and services batteries for battery banks and power supplies. It also delivers battery cabinets, racks and customized storage solutions. When deciding on which batteries to use, there are a number of factors to consider for optimizing the system and minimizing long term cost.

The company mounts in custom size and standard size wall cabinets or floor cabinets, 19” or ETSI by request.

SHUTDOWN SYSTEMS
The company supplies shutdown systems for most needs.
The systems are based on modules with unlimited add-on capabilities.
Model CTSP16W
• For instrumentation/telecom needs where the maximal power on the relay terminals does not exceed 8A at 250VAC.
• 16 input/output signals pr. 19” module.
• Shut down/ override signals separately or in up to four groups per module.
Model CTSS
• For 2 thread telephone lines.
• Up to 5 lines per card and a up to 130 lines per 19” module
• System consists of one or more control cards that each shut down / override one or several line cards.
The systems can be delivered with time relays, in Eexd/e completion or in other configurations.
The company could also design systems by client specifications.

SCOL
This project was initiated in 2008 when Conoco Philips first contacted ComPower with their requirement. After a number of challenges in the concept and design phase, ComPower found a solution that would be suitable. The Company proceeded to establish contact with the sub suppliers needed for the realization of this project. Bergen Group Engineering played a central role in the realization of this project, and is responsible for calculating and constructing the frame based on the sketches that was provided by ComPower. Bergen Group also helped in the development of a lifting set that allows for easy replacement of the units by use of crane or helicopter. One of the projects main challenges was the time aspect. A close relationship with both customer and sub suppliers, as well as an outstanding effort from very skilled co-workers has contributed to making this project a success.
