SIME INGENIEROS S.A., is a Colombian company with more than fifteen years of experience in the cement industry. The Company is located in Boyaca, Colombia and throughout the years has developed a variety of projects in the sector, ranging from the distribution of equipment, namely high-efficiency separators, to the assembly of cement production plants in Latin America.
The Company converts wet process or vertical shaft kiln (VSK) cement plants into dry process rotary kiln plants with preheater towers and calciners, in compliance with the existing environmental regulations for gas and related emissions.
The Company implements new technologies in a fast and economical way bringing immediate results to its customers. An example is the increase in cement production by enhancing the combustion process, without large investments or modifications on the equipment.
SIME INGENIEROS S.A. is in constant research of new technologies and techniques to reduce the total costs of cement and clinker production.

Mini Cement Plants
SIME INGENIEROS S.A. specializes in turnkey projects related to the development of industrial plants for cement production with the following specifications:
• Clinker calcination: production of 100, 200, 300, 400, 500 tons per day.
• Cement grinding: production of 150, 300, 400, 500, 650 tons per day.
Design of Machinery & Components
Conceptualization, analysis (stress, deformation, fatigue, pitting, etc.), 2D drawing and 3D modeling of machinery and their components.
Design of high frequency components, finite element analysis: Stress-strain studies (material, geometric and load nonlinearity) linear and nonlinear static analysis, contact problems and bolts pretension.
Personalized software routines for finite element analysis: Software routines for specific machine parts that have to be analyzed numerous times.
Design of Equipment for Mineral Processing
SIME INGENIEROS S.A. specializes in the manufacture of mechanical equipment for mineral processing, namely, rotary kilns, coolers, preheater towers and precalciner kilns, ball mills, crushers, baghouse dust collectors, dynamic separators, hovercrafts, bucket elevators, conveyor belts, fireboxes, silos, hoppers, sieves, fans, vertical mills, dryers and augers, among others.
Machinery & Equipment
Horizontal milling machines for boring, broaching, drilling, shaping and turning:

1 vertical milling machine: maximum turning diameter 1700mm,

2 horizontal milling machines: maximum turning diameter, 1000mm and maximum weight, 80kg.
Plate rolling machine: Plate rolling up to 1/2” and angle rolling up to 3” x 3” x 3/8”.
CNC plate cutting machine: Plasma cutting up to 1” and flame cutting up to 4”.
Welding machines:
• 2 MIG welding machines,
• 1 Submerged arc welders,
• 3 Shielded metal arc welders.
Drilling machines:
• 4 manual drilling machines: ½” maximum bit diameter,
• 3 pillar drilling machines: 1¼” maximum bit diameter,
• 3 magnetic base drilling machines: ½” maximum bit diameter,
• 1 radial drilling machine.
Μaterial Handling:
• 1 P&H cranes for materials up to 8 tons,
• 1 telehandler for materials up to 4.5 tons,

Clients/Projects
Project under Development: Design, manufacture, installation, commissioning and operation of an industrial plant with a capacity of delivering up to 1,000 tons per month for the processing of defluorinated tricalcium phosphate in Colombia.
Project under Development: Prospecting, physico-chemical analysis of minerals, concession, PMA (Environmental Management Plan), exploration and exploitation of phosphate deposits in Colombia.
