PA Yuzhmash

PA Yuzhmash, also known as the 'Production Association Yuzhny Machine-Building Plant named after A.M. Makarov' (YUZHMASH), is a state-owned aerospace manufacturer and part of the State Space Agency of Ukraine (SSAU). It produces spacecraft, launch vehicles (rockets), liquid-propellant rockets, landing gears, castings, forging, tractors, tools, and industrial products. Reporting to the SSAU, the company works with international aerospace partners in 23 countries.  

PA Yuzhmash is able to manufacture products for various industries, including Defence, Air Transport, Agricultural Machinery, Thermoelectric Power Station, Production/Testing/Operation/Carrier Rockets, while the company' s capabilities include as well Precision/ Ferrous/ Non-Ferrous/ Art Casting, Die Forging and Tooling Plant.

The company has been the key missile producer for Soviet ICBM and space exploration programs. Yuzhmash launch systems included:

• R-5M - the Soviet Union's first nuclear armed missile
