China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation (CASIC)

CHINA AEROSPACE SCIENCE AND INDUSTRY CORPORATION (CASIC), is the backbone of the national science and technology industry and a large state-owned hi-tech enterprise under the direct administration of the central government. It has grown out of the Fifth Academy of the Ministry of Defense in 1956, and gone through a long history of different names. CASIC owns seven academies, two scientific research and development laboratories, six public listed companies, and over 620 other companies and institutes scattered nationwide.

As the largest missile weapon designer and manufacturer in China, CASIC boasts of a comprehensive system for developing and manufacturing air defense missile systems, cruise missile systems, solid rockets, and space products, covering land, sea, air and space operations. Up to now, CASIC has successively developed dozens of advanced missile weapons, which contributed greatly to the modernization of China’s national defense weaponry and equipment. CASIC is the main force of China’s aerospace industry, and has devoted itself to building a space-ground integrated security and support system for lunar exploration and other major national projects, such as microwave measurement radars and altitude control devices.

In recent years, through the successful integration of military and civilian sectors, CASIC has developed a series of products with military and civilian dual-purpose technology. The intelligent taxation system, security system and emergency rescue equipment developed by CASIC have played an important role in the safe operation of the national economy.
