China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC)

CHINA SHIPBUILDING INDUSTRY CORPORATION (CSIC), established on 1st July 1999, consists of some of the enterprises and institutes of the former CHINA STATE SHIPBUILDING CORPORATION (CSSC) and is a very large state-owned enterprise that falls directly under the supervision of the Chinese central government.

CSIC is China's largest manufacturer of naval products. The group is able to design and build different types of naval ships, including submarines, missile destroyers and fleet replenishment ships.

CSIC is one of China's largest shipbuilding and ship repairing companies. Currently, the group has 7 shipyards with an annual building capacity of 5 million dwt. Its longstanding experience and comprehensive range of skills has resulted in the group being able to build all kinds of high quality merchant and naval ships.

CSIC specializes in the construction of all types of merchant ships. Many high quality vessels built by CSIC yards are operating around the world under both Chinese and foreign flags.

Furthermore, the Company is market leader in the engineering sector. The group has considerable experience in designing and building different types of platforms, oil rigs, modules and FPSOs for both domestic and overseas clients.

Shiprepair and conversion works are core areas for CSIC. With its advanced facilities and large capacity, the group is able to carry out ship repair and conversion works on all types of vessels up to 300,000 dwt, as well as offshore engineering products.

CSIC has successfully expanded its business activities to include many non-marine products. It has developed over 100 such products including storage batteries, large steel structures, port machinery, tobacco machinery, automation distribution systems and gas meters.
