Instituto Nacional de Tecnologia Industrial (INTI)

As the government’s technology branch, the mission of INSTITUTO NACIONAL DE TECNOLOGIA INDUSTRIAL (INTI) is to promote the generation and transfer of technological innovation in the country, while ensuring the quality of processes, goods and services on offer. The agency serves as a certifying agency and a disseminator of knowledge and technology practices.

INTI’s role is to develop, preserve and maintain the national quality standards, and disseminate this information to Argentina’s metrology institute. This role contributes to assuring the quality of products and services and the preservation of the environment as well.

INTI’s activities range from technology services (analyses, testing, certification and calibration processes) to technical assistance (audits, research and development, consulting and training services etc.)

INTI’s Aeronautics and Space Research and Development Center is one of the many research centers of the agency and is involved in all technological areas related to the aerospace industry, for the purpose of replacing imported materials, increasing the international competitiveness of local production and promoting research and development and the design of realistic and high impact technology policies in the sector.

Air surveillance blimps: The Aeronautics and Space Center contributes to the development of blimps for environmental and traffic monitoring, communication in remote areas, and surveillance in border areas.

Bio-jet domestic production: Along with other national institutions, INTI is moving towards aviation biofuel production, mainly to supply the nation’s flag carrier. The agency performs this activity through the Aeronautics and Space Center.
