Locomotive Kurastyru Zauyty Joint Stock Company, manufactures and markets locomotives. The company’s products include single-unit mainline freight locomotives with electric transmission AC/AC and axial regulated traction. It serves railway administrations and private operators in Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Latvia, Estonia, Mongolia, and internationally. The company was founded in 2009 and is based in Astana, Kazakhstan. As of June 11, 2013, Locomotive Kurastyru Zauyty Joint Stock Company operates as a subsidiary of CJSC Transmashholding.

Joint Stock Company "Lokomotiv Kurastyru Zauyty", a subsidiary of JSC "National Company "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" (Kazakhstan Railways), opened July 3, 2009, which was established under the State program "Forced Industrial-Innovative Development of Kazakhstan".

The plant was one of the first signs of start of serious structural changes in the economic growth of the country, departure from rough manufacturing, start of a new history of heavy engineering. The main purpose of the company is to make a worthy contribution to the industrial and innovative development and competitiveness of the rail transport system in Kazakhstan, as well as providing quality products to the rolling stock holders of the "1520 zone".
