Union de Industrias Militares de Cuba (UIM)

UNION DE INDUSTRIAS MILITARES DE CUBA (UIM) is the state owned military-industrial complex in Cuba. The organization is responsible for the repair of the weaponry and technology of the ground, air and naval units of the Revolutionary Armed Forces, as well as their periodic modernization in accordance with technological advances in the world. It also has a series of factories dedicated to the production of light weapons, ammunition and other equipment of a diverse nature.

MRO and other industrial companies have installations throughout the country. These include large workshops specializing in tanks, artillery, aircraft, the navy, radio communication systems, radars, missile systems and metallurgical products, among others. The high qualifications of its personnel, the technological discipline and the modern equipment make it possible to undertake tasks of high technical complexity.

In addition to products destined for the units of the Revolutionary Armed Forces, the military-industrial complex develops important products that are marketed to both the national and international market. For several years now, the military industry has been in the vanguard of the introduction and application of the most advanced business-management techniques.
