Winston & Gordon Davies Ltd. is a high quality precision machining facility located in Auckland, which specialises in CNC machining of aerospace components, but has many customers representing a wide variety of industries.

The company’s machines range from small fast models suited to the high speed production of smaller components, to large heavy duty models suited to heavier workplaces, as well as those machines particularly suited to complex one-off components. The manufacture of aviation componentry has been a core competency for in excess of 30 years. They have manufactured flying parts for commercial, defence and private aircraft.

With their CAA Part 148 Certification Winston & Gordon Davies provides Form One Release Certificates which enables componentry to go straight onto an aircraft. The company has CAA Certification and is also ISO 9001 accredited.

CAPABILITIES

CNC Milling - Winston & Gordon Davies’ state-of-the-art CNC milling equipment can work on various materials such as steels, aluminum, brass, exotics and plastic polymers. Their machines range from fast but light production to the more heavy duty cast frames allowing manufacture of tough materials. They are very accurate and reliable usually with a Siemens or Fanuc controller.

Cylindrical Grinding - Winston & Gordon Davies’ extensive cylindrical grinding capabilities enable the company to repair, retrofit and service machine components, as well as handle limited volume production jobs. Through finish grinding, taper grinding, wet grinding, angle grinding, and high speed grinding, they can fine-tune cylindrical components back to factory specifications.

CNC Turn/Mill - Top of the range Turn/Mill machines provide that added option of milling a turned part while it is still on the machine. Having these machines tools reducing production time by 45%. Winston & Gordon Davies also has 3 CNC turning centers holding up to 12 tools each. All of their 4 lathes have bar feeders to aid production with long runs.

5 Axis Machining - Winston & Gordon Davies’s 5 axis Machining Center is one of the best in the world. It’s German, it has glass scales and a spindle range of up to 30,000 rpm. The table has a diameter of 620 and can hold 750kg.

Wire-EDM - WGDWire EDM offers top-quality wire EDM services. Using the latest machine cutting technology, the company’s job shop can cut almost any type of material into almost any shape of any size.
