SMI Plaatwerk is the division of the SMI Groep that is utilised for prototypes as well as small and medium sized series in steel, aluminium or stainless steel. Quality, finishing degree and customer contact are top priorities. SMI Sheet Metal Working products are used for a large variety of applications. SMI Sheet Metal Working fabricates a wide range of sheet metal components, enclosures and printed circuit boards, but also sensitive electronics, trolleys for medical equipment and cabinets for control panels. Examples are manufacturing enclosures for the aviation industry, door systems for buses and trains, defence (like armoured vehicles), medical/laboratory applications and parts for the semi-conductor industry.

DEFENCE
SMI delivers in particular several welded parts and high-quality components for European armoured vehicles. Also for other vehicles and applications are parts manufactured by assembly, machining and construction. The SMI Groep was involved at the prototype-building en 0-serie of the Dutch Boxer module 'Ambulance' en 'Cargo'.
