The core product is the truck mounted knuckle-boom crane. The company is the world market leader in this segment with close to 150 models and a market share of 30 percent. In hookloaders (PALIFT and GUIMA) PALFINGER is the world's second-biggest manufacturer. Over the years the product portfolio has been steadily expanded with products such as the CRAYLER mounted forklift, the PALGATE tail-lift, the MOBILER container transfer system and the ACCESS aerial work platform. In addition, the company develops innovative solutions for railway applications, bridge inspection, recycling, and the E-logistics sector. Cranes for use in agriculture, forestry and other off-road applications complete the product range.

In mid-2001 PALFINGER acquired the Brazilian company Madal S.A. , the market leader in South America . Since then PALFINGER has produced truck knuckle boom cranes in Brazil for the South American market as well as telescopic cranes and reach stackers, which are distributed in Brazil only. On the distribution side, forestry cranes and railway applications supplement the product portfolio. As from 2005 further PALFINGER products will be included in the portfolio for the South American market.
