The European Community Design Prize
was awarded to Frequentis in 1997 for outstanding
Human Machine Interfaces (HMI). In 2001 the
Federal Aviation Administration acknowledged
the company’s commitment to human factors
and its unparalleled award-winning HMI-designs.
All its HMIs are customised to optimise the
workflow of the customer’s defence mission.
SAFETY & SECURITY
Frequentis systems are frequently used in
classified environments and have to comply
with stringent security requirements. The
company has policies and procedures in place
to properly handle classified information
in accordance with the requirements of several
countries.
FREQUENTIS is familiar with and provide
security enforcing systems compliant with
common criteria levels. Frequentis applies
a well-established safety process that ensures
its systems’ reliability, especially
in mission critical applications. The company
has conducted comprehensive safety programs
based on defence standards of military projects;
the result of the safety program is called
a “Safety Case”. The Safety Case
ultimately defines the safety of the system,
and contains or references any available evidence.
Frequentis safety specialists are trained
at renowned institutions, such as the Southern
California Safety Institute and the University
of York. The Safety Department is independent
and continuously monitors, evaluates and influences
product development.
Some applied standards are:
MIL STD 882C/D: System Safety Program Requirements
DEF STAN 00-55: Requirements for Safety Related
Software in Defence Equipment
DEF STAN 00-56: Safety Management Requirements
for Defence Systems
IEC 61508: Functional Safety of electrical/electronic/programmable
electronic safety-related systems
