The activity of design and manufacture of pressure
equipment includes the following types of equipment for Refineries,
Chemical, Petrochemical and Power Plants.

EKME designs and fabricates its equipment in
accordance to the following codes :
Client's special specifications can also be adopted
(e.g. Exxon's International Practice).
Third Party Inspection can be carried out by agencies such
as TUV, Lloyd's Register, Moody Tottrup, Austrian TUV, with
local offices in Thessaloniki.
The detailed engineering of the process equipment is carried
out by EKME using owned software packages.
All drafting operations are performed by EKME, using Autocad
v.14 or 2000.
The variety of fabrication materials in which EKME is experienced
include carbon steel and low carbon steel, stainless steel,
specialty alloys (duplex, incolloy 600/800, hastelloy),
copper and nickel alloys, titanium and clad materials.
Post Weld Heat Treatment is executed in-house using our
own gas fired furnace - dimensions 4m x 5m x 10m with a
capacity of 40 tons @ 750°C.

EKME's workshops are fully equipped with the machinery necessary
for the precise, timely and high quality execution of all works
with our scope of activities. These operations include plate cutting
and rolling, girth welding, tubesheet drilling, tube-to-tubesheet
welding, machining of flanges (including boring of complete channels
to guarantee joint sealing), weld deposition (cladding), e.t.c..

Additionally, an indoors shot blasting and painting shop, with
dimensions 28 x 9 m, is currently in development and should
be operational by the end of the year. This will allow us to
better control the quality of these operations and minimize
their environmental impact.

All 4 refineries operating in Greece are traditionally
customers of EKME. We have undertaken a variety
of projects within them, ranging from maintenance
work in turn-around periods to complete process
unit erection for crude distillation, F.C.C., Isomerization,
Power former, Desulphurization, storage facilities
EKME, also, participates on an annual basis in all
the major turn around maintenance projects carried
out within these installations. Furthermore, it
is for over 25 years the sole annual contractor
for heat exchangers for the Thessaloniki refinery.
Oil and Gas Storage + Transportation
EKME has long been regarded as a storage tank fabricator
and erector in the Greek market. With over 70 tanks
erected and over 40 serviced in the past 20 years,
(all to API or EXXON standards) the accumulated
know-how and expertise allows us to consider tank
erection as one of the strongest points of our erection
EKME has undertaken erection for companies like
SHELL, BP, MOBIL, EKO (EXXON locally) and other
local petroleum retailers.
Pipelines for petroleum and chemical projects (e.g.
propylene) have also been constructed for the same
EKME's involvement in the field of power generation
ranges from fabricator of L.P. and H.P. Heaters,
Condenser Boxes and Conveyor Systems, to erectors
of penstocks, silos and storage tanks, steel structures
of high complexity and weight and contractors for
EKME has participated in may of P.P.C.'s projects
in power plants, from hydroelectric (Thesaurus,
Platanovryssi, Sikia) to S.E.S. Lignite Units (Lavrio,
EKME's commitment to quality, in all aspects of its
operations, has always been one of the company's trademarks
and the main reason behind its sustained success through
EKME's Quality Assurance and Control System has been
certified to conform to ISO 9002 standards since 1997.
