From the start GeoDesy Ltd. has been specialized in surveying
instruments. This is still the main profile of the company.
 |
The equipment
park of the company, the instruments and not at least the
knowledge of the experts fit into this profession. Earlier
the sales activity was limited to a closed circle of the
already known customers. After changes on the market the
management wished to widen the sales and the marketing activity
as well.
GeoDesy organized a world-wide distribution network. A further
step was the establishment of a speciality shop in Budapest
to serve the domestic market. |
The basic goal was to provide the surveyors with wide rage of
instruments, accessories and tools demanded by the profession.
These include both high quality, sophisticated devices coming
from several sources, and middle-price instruments and accessories
for general, everyday use.
To reach better service, the company has developed service activities.
GeoDesy undertakes repair of instruments and also establishes
an officially approved calibration laboratory for qualifying surveying
instruments.
As a further activity, GeoDesy undertakes the production of fine
mechanical and optical elements demanded by its external partners.
The fine-mechanical production of GeoDesy Ltd. includes three
parts:
-
machine shop
-
optical shop
-
assembly shop
These three shops produce the company’s
own precision instruments and the diverse subcontracting productions
in tight cooperation. Due to GeoDesy’s well-ordered trade
structure it can manufacture the demands of its partners within
short deadline in excellent quality and exactly in time. GeoDesy
is capable conducting the occurrent demands from the development,
through the technological background to the manufacturing and to
qualify the final workpiece. Due to the company’s continuous
organizational and technological development, GeoDesy can guarantee
free capacities to all existing and new partners.
Machining shop:
At the
present GeoDesy disposes machines from conventional lathes
and miller machines to NC and CNC machines. The company’s
most modern processing centres, its double lathes and driven
tooled slide lathes always produce the required quality
with the concurrence of GeoDesy well-prepared technicians.
The Engineering shop is equipped with a machinery fleet
that is able to produce small and medium sized components
both in small and medium series. |
 |
GeoDesy also accepts orders for producing individual components
to experimental devices.
One of the sections is populated with traditional machines (lathes,
milling machines) for individual or low series production. The
other section consists of CNC machines for the serial production.
A 3D Measuring Machine is used for manufacturing quality control
and also checking of adjustment of machines.
Assembly shop:
Beyond
the assembling of its own products, GeoDesy Ltd. carries
out the assembling of diverse lease-works. The surveying
instruments and accessories can be found also on its wide
range of products. As a consequence of continuous quality
control only high-quality products are manufactured in the
shops. Assembling runs in traditional organization in a
large hall. There are no conveyors in the assembly lines.
Production runs under the control of high skilled technicians.
|
|
These experts do not only control the operations but effectively
take part in the production.
At the end of the assembly lines a quality control team checks
the end-products against the specification. The last step is the
packing and labeling.
Optical shop:
GeoDesy Ltd. acquired an optical shop in 1999 which was moved
and fitted to GeoDesy's site. Parts coming from this shop are
used for the own products of the company and are exported.
 |
GeoDesy is capable
to produce planar (prisms, filters) and spheric (lens) optical
elements from Ø4mm to Ø80mm. The company’s
production can be divided in two parts. Firstly, GeoDesy
manufactures optical elements for its own instruments and
GeoDesy is ready to undertake any subcontracting production
that fits into the manufacturing ability. Due to the acquisition
of a Schneider CNC production line in 2004 GeoDesy manufacturing
capacity broadened. |
The company recommend its clients its free capacities (the Schneider
production line as well as the classical machines) and GeoDesy
high quality products.
