Dian
Kreatif is a German-Malaysian company renowned for its custom high-tech
composite products. Established in 1997 in Melaka, Malaysia, Dian
Kreatif was originally set-up to facilitate the construction of
4 major dome projects in the country.
Upon its success in composite architectural structures, in 1999
Dian Kreatif diversified its expertise to include the production
of racing yachts. Consequently DK Composites and DK Yachts were
created, with DK Yachts serving as the boating arm of the company.
DK Yachts has since established itself as one of the world's best
practice boat builders and is recognised as a benchmark in quality
composite yacht construction.
Because its concerns extend beyond boat building, DK Yachts has
an advantage over most boatyards. Being actively involved in architectural
and industrial applications of composite construction, DK is able
to invest in more state-of-the-art equipment compared to most other
boatyards.
Together with its technical prowess, expertise in the racing field
and its ISO 9001:2000 certification, DK Yachts is capable of achieving
some excellent yachting work.
Facilities
The facility at DK is one
of the most technologically advanced composite manufacturing facility
in the world. Covering 110,000 square feet of usable workspace,
the facility is fully air-conditioned thus providing a temperature
stable production environment.
Contained within the facility is a multi-cycle computerised temper
oven (25m x 5m x 3.5m), a spray chamber (18m x 6m x 5.5m), an engineering
workshop and a dedicated laminating room. In addition, DK also has
an in-house auto-clave of 40m length.
The DK production hall houses a computer-controlled 18m x 6m x 2.75m
five-axis milling machine, one of the largest in South East Asia.
The NC programmes required for the guidance of the milling machine
are transmitted from DK's design office.
The design office works on high performance IBM CAD/CAM systems
which are data supply linked to production and directly command
the five-axis milling machine.
