Arconic Foundation Renews Support for Women in Manufacturing ® (WiM) 2017 Virtual Learning Series

Women in Manufacturing® (WiM) announced today that its Virtual Learning Series will continue into 2017 thanks to renewed support from Arconic Foundation. The series, launched in 2016 with Arconic Foundation’s support, produces six bimonthly webinars focused on a variety of industry-related topics. Each webinar is presented by a different knowledge expert, allowing participants to conveniently and affordably learn about best practices and cutting-edge research across the vast and diverse manufacturing industry.

“We are excited that our partnership with Women in Manufacturing will continue as we believe that the information shared via the Virtual Learning Series is valuable, highly relevant and applicable to WiM’s members,” said Suzanne Van De Raadt, Vice President, Global Communications and Partnerships with Arconic Foundation.

“The 2016 pilot series proved to be a sensational success, and WiM is thrilled to continue its partnership with Arconic Foundation to continue this series in 2017,” said Allison Grealis, Founder and President of Women in Manufacturing. “We represent women from every job function and industry in the manufacturing sector, therefore our Virtual Learning Series must be applicable to many different workplace environments. Thanks to Arconic, we can offer a series that focuses on key topics of interest such as leadership, management, diversity and communication, and is intended to increase participants’ career engagement and commitment.”

Arconic Foundation supports programs that help prepare the 21st century engineering and advanced manufacturing workforce. Arconic Foundation is an independently endowed foundation and the charitable arm of Arconic Inc. – which works in close partnership with customers to solve complex engineering challenges to transform the way we fly, drive, build and power. On November 1, 2016, Arconic launched following the separation from Alcoa.

The next WiM Virtual Series webinar will take place on July 27 and will highlight the importance of mentorships in manufacturing. Laurie Markoe, Vice President of Energy and Additive Manufacturing, and Diana Perreiah, President of Arconic Building & Construction Systems North America, will present on this timely topic. This will be the second webinar of the 2017 series. The first, “Generations + Gender,” took place on May 30, and featured generational guru Hannah Ubl with BridgeWorks. WiM will produce four additional webinars for the 2017 series, and topics for these webinars will be announced soon on the WiM website.
