Latin America Oil and Gas Assembly Conference 2017 (Barranquilla, Colombia - October 5-6, 2017) - Research and Markets

Research and Markets has announced the addition of the "Latin America Assembly 2017" conference to their offering.

Building upon established relationships from the first four Getenergy Americas events, and looking at new opportunities across the rest of the continent, Getenergy Latin America seeks to transform the economic potential of oil, gas and renewal energy in Latin America through localisation, education and training.

Governments, Operators, Service Companies and the training and education communities are actively seeking to engage with international partners to help them build local capacity for energy markets across the entire continent.

In Colombia, the signing of the 2016 FARC Peace Agreement has provided a secure platform to develop international partnerships and investment. Ecopetrol aims to increase production by 2020, with more licensing auctions scheduled and steps taken to liberalise the market.

Sessions will be open discussions on how to improve local workforce and supply chain capacity, and how to maximise the economic potential of hydrocarbons for national development in the region. Country focused workshops will outline; how governments, operators, educators and the supply chain are working together to achieve their goals in a continuing low price environment, the current and future skills gaps, and what is required from the international community.

The 5th edition Americas event, will launch Latin America, expanding into new countries such as Ecuador, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela, Belize, Guyana and Trinidad & Tobago whilst building upon our established relationships in Colombia and Mexico.

The Latin American Oil & Gas Community is actively seeking to engage with international partners. Universities have identified the need for the transfer of learning and knowledge and teacher exchange programmes and oil & gas companies are committed to retraining the existing workforce and developing new local skills. A national strategy will be necessary to integrate all the players in the value chain and to optimise existing and newly discovered reserves for the benefit of the country.
