Mr. Pond has an impressive background in business development, strategy and management. A retired United States Marine with broad experience in joint assignments, Paul successfully transitioned to the private sector in 2011 and has been leading the field in strategy, business development and capture ever since, with significant “wins” on multiple large procurements with small, medium and large companies. Tenacious, intelligent, articulate, effective and well respected, Paul takes the time to understand the needs of his clients and uses that information to deliver meaningful, world-class solutions.

Prior to joining SGI, Paul was Vice President of Strategy and Business Development for The Columbia Group, a mid-sized Professional Services company, where he led the company’s effort to create a new business line. He previously worked for Hewlett Packard leading the development of a change strategy for cultivating and growing new business. Paul began his “second career” in the private industry as Vice President of Strategic Programs and Business Development for TISTA Science and Technology Corporation.

Mr. Pond holds a Bachelor of Science in Resource Management from California Polytechnic State University, a Masters of Science Degrees in International Relations from Troy State University and Aerospace Operational Science from Air University. Mr. Pond is the proud recipient of the Defense Superior Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal, three Meritorious Service Medals, and numerous other meritorious, combat and campaign medals and awards. He is married and has two daughters.
