Constitution Pipeline Faces Continued Hurdles in What Could Be a State vs. Federal Showdown, an Industrial Info News Alert

SUGAR LAND, Texas, Sept. 8, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- In August, owners of the Constitution Pipeline were disappointed when the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit rejected a lawsuit by the owners claiming the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) had overstepped its bounds in denying a water-quality permit to the 124-mile pipeline, which is intended to carry natural gas from the Marcellus Shale in Pennsylvania into New York. Nevertheless the pipeline's owners, which include Williams Partners (Tulsa, Oklahoma), Cabot Oil & Gas Corporation (Houston, Texas), Duke Energy Corporation (Charlotte, North Carolina) and WGL Holdings Incorporated (Washington, D.C.), have vowed that the fight is not over.
